Careers
Who can I talk to and where to next?
There are currently 12 Registrar posts; 7 are in Radiation
Oncology and 7 in Medical Oncology. Two of the Registrar posts are
usually filled with Registrar trainees on rotation from the Medical
training scheme as part of the FRACP programme.
Training posts can also be provided for applicants from other
specialties (eg palliative care, surgery). These applicants should
discuss their intentions with the clinical director prior to
applying.
It is desirable for applicants to fit the following
criteria:
- Current staff showing satisfactory
progress
- Applicants familiar with medical practice
within the NZ Public Health Service
- Those holding general registration
- Those with prior Oncology experience
- Those with Part I FRACP; this is a
requirement for Medical Oncology
- Those with more than the minimum of 2 years
post-graduate experience
